Obituary for Paul Ruginis

Paul Robert Ruginis, 69, of Morea, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest on Saturday, February 4, 2023 following a long, courageous battle with illness.
Born in Danville, PA on August 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Peter and Della (née Gedman) Ruginis of Fountain Springs, PA. Paul was a 1971 graduate of North Schuylkill High School.
Paul had a tremendous passion for music, and most of his career was spent in the music industry. Early on, he traveled to state fairs as an 8-track tape vendor and was also the proud owner of Cloud 9 Audio in Shenandoah, PA in the late 70’s. He was later employed by Pottsville Republican Newspaper, Sears, RGIS, and did some construction work before finishing his career as a long-time music vendor at both the Hometown and Renninger’s Farmer’s Markets. In his retirement, Paul spent a great deal of time on building and listening to his vast vinyl record collection.
Most of all, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and pets. He especially loved attending concerts. He truly enjoyed the simple things in life, such as gardening and picking local fruits. In his younger years, he loved long rides on his Harley Davidson Sportster and riding roller coasters with his daughters. Millennium Force at Cedar Point was his all-time favorite. His child-like sense of humor, young soul, big heart, and contagious smile always lit up any room.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife and life-long partner of 46 years, Palma (née Tucci), his daughters Michele (Scott) Ulbin of Ardmore and Ashley Smith of Reading, three grandchildren (Daniel, Michelle, and Dean), five nieces, and four nephews. Paul is also survived by his sister Evelyn (Joseph) Menne of Ashland.
A private service will be held at the family’s request. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Paul’s memory to American Diabetes Association or planting a memorial tree through Arbor Day Foundation.
