Obituary for Madeline Barrett (Lainson)
Madeline D. Barrett, age 100, of Allentown, formerly of Whitehall, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2022 at Cedarbrook Nursing home in Allentown, Madeline was the loving wife of the late Bernard Barrett.
Born on July 9, 1921 in Southampton, England. She came to The United States at the age of 9. A daughter to the late Albert and Florence Lainson.
Madeline worked as an underwriter for travelers’ Insurance Company in New York. She also worked for Block Ins. Agency and retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. Madeline also worked for Macy’s for 25 years before retiring at the age of 93, she was such a legend.
Madeline loved spending time with her granddaughter and her three great grandsons. She loved the New England States and shopping, antiques and family time. She was beyond dedicated to her jobs and loved being around people and her two cats Misty and Jade.
Madeline is survived by her daughter, Lynne R Heist with husband Michael, granddaughter Erika Castillo, great grandsons; Nicolas, Alex and Elijah all of Whitehall.
In addition to her husband and parents, Madeline is preceded in passing by her two sisters Evelyn Leavee and Eileen Lainson and her brother Colin Lainson.
A graveside services for Madeline will be celebrated on April 4, 2022 at Grandview Cemetery on Walbert Ave in Allentown PA 18104 at 11am.
