Obituary for Kathleen Concannon (Jonas)
Kathleen Concannon, 65, of Jonas, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022, at home under St. Luke's Hospice Care.
Kathleen was the loving wife to Kevin Concannon for 31 years and mother to two daughters, Kaitlin Concannon and Cassie McDonald.
Kathleen was born in Jersey City, NJ, on August 13, 1956, to the late Florence (Roach) Andersen and John McDonald. She was one of eight children. Kathleen studied Equine Science at Centenary College and spent many years passionately training and showing horses across the United States. Kathleen moved from Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, to the Poconos with her husband and children in 1995. She worked many jobs locally in real estate and hospitality until her passing from pancreatic cancer.
Kathleen was an extraordinary gardener who loved animals and people even more. She was a true "Chatty Kathy" striking up friendly conversation with anyone within earshot. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends who were blessed to be a part of her life.
In addition to her husband and daughters, Kathleen is survived by her siblings, Maureen McDonald, Sharon McDonald, Eileen Kotter and Darren McDonald, as well as many loving nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence (Roach) Andersen and John McDonald, and her three brothers, Kevin McDonald, John McDonald, and Timothy McDonald.
A celebration of life will be held to honor the memory of Kathleen in the coming weeks. Details will be posted shortly for those who would like to attend.
In lieu of donations or gifts, we ask that anyone mourning Kathleen's loss to please plant a flower or start a garden in her memory. She inspired many people to garden, always propagating and gifting plants from her garden for others to enjoy.
