Obituary for Janet Lauer (Mitschow)
Janet E. Lauer-nee Mitschow, 72, of Easton passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021. Born in Newark, NJ, she grew up in Nutley, before retiring to Easton, PA at the age of 55. Janet was a Prudential Ins. Co Employee for over 30 years, working in the Actuarial Dept. for over 30 years, retiring as a Financial Analyst.
Mrs. Lauer is survived by her husband Arnold H. Lauer. Also survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Locke, her grandchildren, Krista Lynn and Joseph Daniel, her brother Lawrence and his family in NJ, as well as, her stepson Arnold and his wife Sandra, living in Arizona. Several cousins and their spouses are also survived.
Respecting Janet's wishes there will be no visitation hours or services. Please mourn or remember fond memories in your own peaceful time. Janet's favorite Charity is St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
"I, Janet, would like to thank everyone who prayed for so long for me and through many illnesses. Facebook friends come through even more so that some in-laws and relatives - no one knows what to say to someone who is terminal - 'Just thinking of you' in a note means so much. No message of well goes without remembering, and can hurt. You know, who decided to just ignore to reach out with no wishes, but that's ok ALL who cared did.
I will miss my family, my cat of 12 years, Snickers, my beautiful house of 16 years, and neighbors who befriended us.
Thank you to all the nurses who cared for me during this illness and all my past illnesses. NURSES ARE THE BEST! I thank all my doctors, I had the best, and I hope you all remember me and my sense of humor!"
