Obituary for Jane Warmkessel (Herbst)
Jane Warmkessel, 97 of Emmaus passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on 08/28/2021.
Jane was born in Wescosville to the late Margaret and Harold Herbst. She was a graduate of South Whitehall High School, Class of 1942. Upon graduating she worked at the Gas Company in Allentown and later worked for the government in Harrisburg, Pa. After some time she returned home, got married and raised her family.
Jane was a Girl Scout leader and taught Sunday School for many years at Cedar Union Church, Cetronia, Pa. Years later she became and is still a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, Pa.
Jane's biggest joy in life was her family, always there whenever any of them needed her. Her kind, caring and gentle soul earned her many lasting friendships over the years, never forgetting them with her annual birthday, anniversary and Christmas Cards which she continued to send until she was no longer capable this past year.
Surviving is her loving, caring daughter Victoria with whom she resided; Sister Connie Dries; Devoted Grandchildren: Sharon Michele, Nicole Christine, Sarah Jane, Mallory Kay, Michael, Anna and Katharine; 7 Great Grandchildren JayJay, Ariana, Colton, Wesley, Sydney, Sunny, Paxton. Jane was predeceased by her daughters Charlene (Wieder) Vavrina and Sharon (Wieder) Nicolaisen.
A Celebration of Jane's life will be held at 4:00pm on September 8, 2021 at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd, Emmaus PA 18049. In lieu of flowers, the family as memorial contribution may be made to the funeral home to help defer funeral cost.
