Obituary for Dorothy Zlock

Dorothy A. Zlock, 93, of Nesquehoning, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Maple Shade Meadows. She was the loving wife of Samuel E. Zlock who passed in 2010.

Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Harvilla) Kulha.
Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Lehighton High School. She was a member of St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford and VFW Post 8008 Auxiliary in Nesquehoning. She worked for Bright’s in Lehighton and Drigan’s Market in “Nesqi” for many years. She also took great pride in her county and civic duties while serving as a voting judge for elections.

Dorothy was known to many as Grammy Zlock, and she loved each and every one of you. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Samuel J. of Nesquehoning and Thomas J., husband of Pamela (Corby) of Nesquehoning; grandchildren, Christopher L. of North Wales, John T. and Samantha L. of Nesquehoning; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, John, William, Francis and Edward.

Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbot St., Lansford, PA 18232. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Slovak Protestant Cemetery in Nesquehoning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 8008, 300 E. Center St, Nesquehoning, PA 18240 or to the church.
