Obituary for Angelina "Angie" Roth (Alotta)

Angelina (Angie) Benedetta Alotta Roth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 18, 2019. She was born the youngest of 3, on September 28, 1936 in Allentown, PA to Francis and Josephine (Lena) Alotta and graduated from Allen(town) High School. On February 23, 1957, she married Roslyn A. Roth, whom she met while working at Western Electric. Together, they had two sons and later adopted a granddaughter. Angie loved spending time camping with family and friends, playing bingo, trips to the beach and casinos, cooking and baking, and caring for many family members and pets over her lifetime. In addition to being a wife and homemaker, she worked for Hess’s Department stores, had her own dog grooming business, and enjoyed working at several bingo halls. Most affectionately referred to as “Nana” by many, she always took on the caregiver role and was a constant source of comfort, laughter, and love to all she had the pleasure of knowing. You were always sure to leave her house with a belly full of food and a heart full of love. Angelina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Francis Alotta. Left to honor Angelina and her love are her children, Gregory Roth of San Antonio TX, David Roth (and wife Susan Roth) of Schnecksville PA, and Karen Roth Diaz of Allentown PA; her sister, Nita Alotta Bartlett of San Francisco, CA; and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Lauren Marchetto, Christina Roth, Andrew Roth, Alexander Roth, Sean Roth, Hannah Roth, Abigail Roth, Olivia Roth, Reese Diaz, Antonio Roth, Gregory Roth, Santino Roth, Gianna Kowalski, Brynlee Roth, Steven Kowalski, and Oliver Roth as well as nieces, Kathleen Roxberry and Kelly Bartlett, and nephew, Frank Alotta. Funeral services will be private but a Celebration of Life gathering for friends and family who would like to celebrate, memorialize, and honor Angelina’s life will be held on Saturday August 17th, 2019 from 12-3pm at Cetronia Fire Company Social Hall at 18 S. Scenic Street Allentown PA 18104. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” - Helen Keller
